  • Neuromas   
    A neuroma is a swelling or scarring of a small nerve that connects to two of your toes and provides sensation to these toes. The symptoms can come and go depending on activity, shoe style and even, weather. They consist of pain or numbness, usually affecting the 3rd and 4th toes, counting from the big toe.

    Gout is a painful condition of the foot that occurs when the build up of uric acid in the tissues or joint. Symtoms usually include extreme pain in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning and redness or swelling over the joints and usually occurs in the big toe. Diet has an influence over gout.

    Warts are a common foot problem. It is a small skin lesion on the bottom of the foot. Warts are usually only painful if squeezed or pinched and are caused by the wart virus entering the skin through small cuts or cracks in the skin.   • Peroneal Tendon Dislocation/Dysfunction   
    This condition occurs when tendons in the foot dilocate from their position. These tendons are used to support and hold up the arch, however, when they are stretched or torn they become injured causing pain and swelling.

    Cholesteral deposists in the achilles tendon will cause Xanthomas of the Achilles Tendon. This condition is treatable at our office.
  • Chronic Lateral Ankle Pain   
    This condition causes pain on the outside of the ankle due to ankle injury. However, other causes may include arthritis, inflammation of the joint, injury to the nerve, or torn ligament. We have many treatment options including physical therapy, icing, and anti inflammatory medication.
  • Osteochondritis   
    Osteochondritis Dessicans are lesions that usually cause pain and stiffness of the ankle joint and affects all age groups. Often, Osteochondritis usually follow a twisting type injury to the ankle
  • Metatarsalgia (foot pain in ball)   
    Foot pain in the "ball of your foot," the area between your arch and the toes, is generally called metatarsalgia. The pain usually centers on one or more of the five bones (metatarsals) in this mid-portion of the foot. Also known as "dropped metatarsal heads," metatarsalgia can cause abnormal weight distribution due to over-pronation.
  • Plantar Fibromas (lumps in the arch of the foot)   
    Plantar Fibromas (lumps in the arch of the foot) are benign tumors that occur in the arch of the foot. Orthotics usually help to relive symptoms or pain, however, in more serious cases surgery may be suggested. Consult a doctor today!

    Both professional and weekend athletes can suffer from achilles tendinitis, a common overuse injury and inflammation of the tendon. Many runners experience this condition.   • Sesamoiditis   
    Sometimes known as the "ball bearings of the foot," the sesamoids are two small bones found beneath the first metatarsal bones. They can inflame or rupture under the stress of exercise.
  • Osteochondromas   
    Osteochondromas are benign tumors that occur under toenail. This condition usually affects children and young adults. Although this problem usually does not cause many problems, it can cause ingrown toenails.
  • Shin Splints   
    Shin splints is the name used to describe pain in the shin. Usually this condition occurs in athletes who engage in high impact training, improper stretching/warm ups, or have an underlying foot condition aggravating the shins. Shin splints are easily treatable and we have many options at our office.
  • Sports Injuries   
    Athletes need to take care of their feet in order to be the best at their sport. However, many injuries may occur in the feet, ankle, and even toes. Proper shoes, stretching, training, and preparation will help to prevent injury.
  • Claw Toe   
    Claw toe is caused by nerve damage from diseases such as alcoholism or diabetes which weaken the foot. This condition causes the toes to point down, digging into the sole of the shoe. Without treatment this condition will only get worse.
  • Clubfoot   
    Clubfoot occurs in infants and children when the foot and ankle are turned inward. Although it's not painful, your child will not be able to walk properly without correction. Your doctor may suggest using serial casting to correct the problem. In more serious cases, the child may need corrective surgery.
  • Dysplasia (Epiphysealis Hemimelica)   
    Dysplasia is a condition that affects the bone joints. It's caused when too much cartilage is grown in that area. Often times is forms when a person has different length limbs.
  • Flat Feet (Over Pronation)   
    Flat Feet is a very common problem with children's feet and toddler's feet. This condition occurs when the arch of the foot has not developed properly. Flat feet will cause children to walk irregularly and may cause pain. We have many easy treatment options for this condition at our office.
  • Gordon Syndrome   
    These disorders typically involve stiffness and impaired mobility of certain joints of the lower arms and legs (distal extremities) including the knees, elbows, wrists, and/or ankles.
  • Spurs   
    Bone spurs are painful, yet common foot problems that usually occur in the heel and near the toes. Spurs are growths of bone that petrude the foot and are easily irritated. Treatment usually includes proper shoewear, shoe inserts (orthotics) or anti-inflammatory medications.
  • Tarsal Coalition   
    A tarsal coalition is a bone condition that causes decreased motion or absence of motion in one or more of the joints in the foot. The lack of motion or absence of motion is due to abnormal bone, cartilage or fibrous tissue growth across a joint.
  • Ankle Sprain   
    Ankle sprains are caused by an unnatural twisting or force on the ankle bones of the foot, often resulting in one or more ligaments on the outside of the ankle to be stretched or torn. If not properly treated, ankle sprains could develop into long-term problems.
  • Plantar Fasciitis (heel pain)   
    Heel pain is the most common complaint podiatrists hear from their patients. Many reasons cause heel pain such as increased activity, weight gain, and ill fitting shoes.     Haglund Deformity (also known as "pump bump" or "retrocalcaneal bursitis") is a painful enlargement of the back of the heel bone that becomes irritated by shoes. It normally appears as a red, painful, and swollen area in the back of the heel bone. Women tend to develop the condition more than men because of the irritation from rigid heel counters of shoes rubbing up and down on the back of the heel bone.
  • Hallux Rigidis (Stiff Big Toe)   
    Arthritis in your feet can cause this painful condition, Hallux Rigidis (Stiff Big Toe). Walking, running, exercising and other activities can become painful or intolerable. Our doctors suggest conservative treatment options such as anti inflammatory medications, icing, or corrective shoes. However, surgery may be neccessary.
  • Hallux Limitus (Stiff Big Toe Joint)   
    Hallux Limitus is a condition that results in stiffness of the big toe joint. It is normally caused by an abnormal alignment of the long bone behind the big toe joint called the first metatarsal bone. Left untreated, Hallux Limitus can cause other joint problems, calluses, and diabetic foot ulcers.
  • Hallux Varus   
    This condition is caused when the big toe points away from the second toe. It usually results from a complication from bunion surgery, although there are other reasons this condition occurs. Treatment usually includes exercises and stretching, toe splints and corrective surgery.
  • Hammertoes   
    This very common condition is a deformity of the second, third and fourth toes. The toe is bent at the middle joint causing it to look like a hammer.   • Jackson Weiss Syndrome
