Heel pain is the most common complaint most podiatrist encounter. Millions of people suffer with this frustrating condition and many of them do not understand their causes and treatments. Heel pain is not a normal state for your feet. You should be able to do normal activites without pain. The pain is there to tell you something is wrong.

For example, heel pain may occur when you begin a new exercise routine, suddenly increase your activity level, gain weight or are wearing ill fitting shoes. At our office, we treat heel pain daily. Much of the problem is shoes, we start with thos as that will be the simplest problem. it is estimated that 80% of people are wearing the wrong size shoe. A certified pedorthist will be able to get you the best shoe for your foot as well as educate you on how to handle your shoes.

For people who have reoccurring heel pain the problems may be a little different. The reasons could vary from arthritis, sever's disease, achilles bursitis, even plantar fasciitis (the most common). The treatment for these problems will vary on your activity level or doctor's choice for your specific problem.
