The latest New Balance sneakers are designed after the minimalist movement, where people are moving toward the less is more approach to running. As podiatrists, we find it hard to approve of barefoot running, so if you’re considering going bare, they minimalist shoes are a much better option. Your feet need support and protection from environmental factors such as rocks, glass and other debris.

                      
K-Swiss expands on some of their previous designs, while also giving their shot at a minimalist shoes. The Blade-Max™series consist of supportative, breathable shoes. The were designed to be lightweight and flexible. The Blade Foot Run shoe is their minimalist shoe that promotes natural foot functions while running.



Asics GEL-Kayano® 18 claims to also be more flexible and lighter than their previous running shoes while featuring new heel designs and gender maxing features. The heel of the shoes is designed to put pressure on the outer bones of the heel, relieving pain inside the heel. In addition, the top of the shoe is designed to use a person's body strength to maximize their running.
