Walking is a great form of exercise. It can help you lose weight, lower your blood pressure, as well as, reduce stress. Walking is a low impact exercise great for people who are looking for a way to get into exercising or for those maintaining their health. You can walk inside with an exercise machine or you can go on an adventure outside to get some fresh air.

WALKING ROUTINE

Here are 3 Easy Tips to Start a Walking Routine

1. Get the right shoes! You need to get a new, supportive pair of walking shoes. Don't try to use your old, gardening shoes. The fastest way to end your walking routine is from foot pain caused by old shoes. Get measured by a professional for your length and width and get a pair that feels good!

2. Check your schedule. Make a plan for your walking, It's too easy to get too busy to exercise. Decide based on your schedule when is the best time. Is it really feasible to go in the morning before work? Are you more motivated after dinner? Choose the best time and stick to it!

3. Recruit a friend! It's much easier (and more fun) to walk with someone. Ask a friend, family member, neighbor, even the dog to join you on your walks. You will feel obligated to keep your commitment if someone is counting on you, even if it's just the dog.

Check with Your Doctor

Always make sure you speak to your doctor before starting a walking routine. If you have recently had surgery or have any other health complications, always get cleared by your doctor before you begin.
