We live in a fast paced world. We have to contend with jobs, kids, families, and a myriad of other responsibilities. We sometimes forget the simple pleasures in life, and just letting someone else pamper us is one of the simple things we can do for ourselves. We are always doing things for others...Sometimes we need to be a bit selfish and just do something for ourselves. It is not only refreshing for the body, but also for the mind.
We rarely just take time to "smell the roses" and reflect upon what is really important in our day to day lives. A visit to the spa is just one of the simple "quick" getaways that we should indulge ourselves with. It is fairly inexpensive, usually close by to your work or home and the health benefits (both mentally and physically) cannot be expounded upon too much.
Which of us would not enjoy a few minutes of pampering and the pleasures that a simple spa treatment can bring? To just sit back and let someone take care of you for a chance, whether it is a massage or a simple manicure or pedicure, it can really improve the way you're looking at the world and perhaps just slow you down enough to put a smile on your face where there was none before.
Instead of going to lunch and wolfing down a greasy burger or grazing on a boring salad, take that hour and indulge yourself with a pedicure and a manicure. Instead of siting in some fast food joint and staring into your phone, you could be sitting back and relaxing to the sound of some quiet peaceful music with your eyes closed, letting your momentary problems just drift away. Which one of us wouldn't like to trade indigestion for a moment of tranquility? Believe me when I say that your co-workers will wonder "just what did you do over your lunch hour?" to put you into such a relaxed and peaceful state of mind.
Serenity has a way of rubbing off on others. Think about it...If you come home to your loved ones and you are in a terrific and happy state of mind, how can it not affect the way you will interact with each other. Isn't that worth a few moments of your precious time out of your day?
What I am asking is that you take a few moments to remember what life is all about. A quick visit to your local spa can achieve wonders not only physically, but mentally as well.
