How quickly you can drive after bunion surgery depends on a number of situations. it will depend on which foot you had surgery, how severe the case, your prescription medication and a few more. We have a number of patients who had bunion surgery and were able to return to work (a desk job) in as little as 3 days. If they had surgery on their left foot and have an automatic car, they would most likely be able to drive themselves.

Each surgery case is different, your situation will be unique. However, our best piece of advise is to have your foot and ankle problems treated ASAP. Bunion surgery for a person with a mild case, will have an easier and more convenient recovery. The longer you wait, the worse your problem gets which will likely cause a more in depth surgery and longer recovery.

Take advantage of our free exam to have your bunion examined and discuss treatment options with our doctors.
