The shoes you wear are very important! Pointed toe shoes will apply pressure to the bunion which will worsen the pain.   If you are in the early stages of Hallux Valgus ( bunion), converting from a pointed toe shoe to a wider box toe shoe may arrest the progression of the deformity.  Our shoe expert will help you still wear stylish shoes that are comfortable and fitting for your feet! At our office, we offer bunion pads which will help alleviate the pain by reducing the pressure and rubbing from the shoe. Another option you can use at home is toe spacers.  The toe spacers will attempt to splint the big toe and reverse the deforming forces.
