Plantar fasciitis is usually caused by an inflammation to the tendon on the bottom of the foot. This is usually caused by over use, starting a new activity or spending a lot of time walking. Also, recent weight gain, a change of shoes, or an injury to the foot can cause heel pain.
Most people will experience the most pain as soon as they take their first few steps in the morning. The pain can increase throughout the day. Treatment for heel pain will vary on the severity level of pain and the exact cause of pain. Injections, orthotics and surgery are all possibilities. You should see a doctor before the problem worsens.
