The difference between a bunion and a tailor's bunion otherwise known as a bunionette is where the bony prominence is located. A typical bunion is locates next to the big toe, where a bunionette is on the other side, near the pinky. There are different reasons these two common foot problems occur. Bunions are usually caused by genetics and poor footwear. A bunionette is mostly just caused by genetics with shoes only aggravating the problem.

If you have pain around or near your bunion or bunionette, call our office to discuss treatment options. In addition, if your problem is interfering with the shoes you wear, you should seek attention. There are different treatment options to either accommodate the bunion/bunionette or to have it removed altogether.
