Tom came to our office with heel pain, which is a very common problem that we encounter. In order to determine the cause of his pain, we took x-rays of his foot. Dr. Wishnie then performed a comprehensive exam, asked Tom some easy questions, and determined the location of his pain. Within a few moments, Dr. Wishnie determined that Tom had inflammation of a ligament called the plantar fascia, which has led to a condition called plantar fasciitis.
In order to help him with this condition, Dr. Wishnie provided a helpful, informative packet of information to educate him about his condition. He also gave Tom a cortisone injection, taught him some stretching exercises, and provided him with an anti-inflammatory and a custom orthotic.
