Our Certified Pedorthist, explains the difference of Diabetic Shoes compared to ordinary shoes. There are a few major difference. First, the shoes have no inner lining. This is huge as seams can cause cuts and infections in diabetics that may go unnoticed until it is too late. In addition, they are accommodative for people with any bone issues such as bunions or hammertoes, as well as, prosthetics. Lastly, diabetic shoes have a larger toe box than a typical shoe. The large toe box allows the toes to move freely without being constricted. It is very important for diabetics to take care of their feet. Our doctors and staff are experts of diabetic foot care.

Diabetics should have an exam with a podiatrist at least once a year. Your insurance may cover a podiatrist exam, as well as diabetic shoes. Please call our office for a free exam and we can check your benefits for you!
